Item 8a from my bucket list was struck off today. Booked the tickets way back in May but yet managed to get only Day 1 and Day 4 tickets.
I enjoyed my day at the match – so detailed posts on my experience will follow. Rain and India’s fielding played spoilsport but overall what a fun experience. Having watched all my cricket at Wankhede, I never knew cricket matches could be turned into a fun-fair!
Here are some of the memories to share with you all!
At the Compton/Eidrich Stands Gate Entrance – We were inside in 5 minutes!
The Grand Pavillion – we were on the opposite end beside the Media Centre
The sun did not come out the entire day today! Damn English Rains!
The players come out for the practice drill
KP getting ready and boy did he survive today!
England squad getting slip practice – India should’ve got some today
RD and Raina in the nets on the Nursery Ground behind the Main Ground
RD signing autographs on his way back to the ground
The players walk out
The first glimpse of GOD fielding at mid-off.
The first ball
Every pillar at LORDS carried a record completed at LORDS – Near my stand Graeme Smith and Glenn McGrath’s names adorned the pillars.
It was technically Ind Vs SA post lunch and look who decided to visit the ground – now I was confused – Ind playing Eng or SA?
And then by tea rain played spoilsport and we decided to call it off too!
Lets hope that when you attend on Day 4, you not only get to see SRT play a special knock… but that too in bright sunshine! 🙂
Love the pictures! they give a real insight into what it’s like to be watching a match from the stands at Lords. You can’t see those kind of details on TV.
Mary there are more to come – I just got back last Sun – hectic time at work will post more over the weekend!
